I love ebay, coupons and saiving money and I am what many call an addict. I used to use fatfingrs, until I found auctionegg.

So if you want a few good sites for ebay check out fatfingrs and http://www.auctionegg.com they have a special dollar deals section and ebay misspelled auction finder, plus they give away a free windows program that I use that finds the typo auctions.

Here is the link to the free tool if you want to download it:

http://www.auctionegg.com/files/MisspelledAuctionFinder.zip

Have fun saving money (or spending money as my husband calls it)

I'm not much of an online buyer. I think I've only bought one item from Ebay. It was an out-of-print book that I have been searching for a long time. I have bought more from Amazon.ca because my kids would ask me to buy CDs and games that they can't find in the stores here. I also noticed that sometimes the items are shipped later than they promised.

I had at one point doing 70% of my personal shopping online while living in NYC; loved its conevenience. However, for some odd reason, I was just not tempted enough to buy anything on ebay.

Hope everything turns out fine with the latest online purchase.

here are some things that i hope you'll find helpful:
- if you're buying something whose quality variabilty is high, such as shoes (could be fake), or electronics (could be defective), better buy it from Amazon.com. and be sure to buy those that are fulfilled by Amazon itself or other reputable establishments (sometimes, items are fulfilled by Target), and not individuals selling on Amazon. this also applies if you're buying something expensive. there's just a lot of scammers on eBay.
- if you're buying something whose quality doesn't vary much, such as books or other cheap items, go to eBay. they're cheaper than Amazon.
- if you're selling something, since things are more expensive in Amazon, you'll be able to sell your stuff at a higher price there than on eBay.
- always read the description of the item. sometimes, the seller will be intentionally vague about certain negative aspects of his item. if in doubt, better to buy from another that's a wee bit more expensive, and save you the headache of getting the wrong item and trying to get a refund.
- also, read the ratings of the seller. my policy is, if it's below 98%, then that's a red flag. i often read the seller negative feedbacks, just to see the negatives of the seller. oftentimes, it's just delivery delays or something minor. but if you see feedbacks that say the seller is misrepresenting his items, then he's not worth buying from.
- take note of the shipping, especially in eBay. sometimes, sellers on eBay price their items really low, but charge you outrageous shipping costs to compensate. be especially wary of that. that doesn't happen in Amazon, because Amazon sets the shipping fees itself. also, even if the seller's not overcharging his delivery fees, delivery fees can drive up the cost of your item and make it more expensive than if you buy them in the stores, so buying online isn't always cheaper.
