Good driving tips. Although instead of women drivers, perhaps it's the men drivers who should really pay attention to these tips. ;) Manila's a scary place to drive, many people don't pay close attention to their own safety and that of others.

Hi Noemi, another tip, don't multi-task while driving. And I always hold on to the horn especially pag iniipit ako ng trucks and buses in Edsa, mabasag eardrums nila talaga sa busina ko, he he. Wag din pasindak sa MMDA. In my 10 years of driving, I never gave a single centavo to traffic enforcers who flagged me down. I just show them my expired Senate ID, ha ha...

I'm interested with the tip from Glitch...Don’t listen to mellow music while driving at night especially if she’s alone. This may cause us sleepy...But I think we should also not listen to the music which is too noisy, as this may disturb our awareness and listening...

The MMDA tips are really helpful, thanks for those.

I've had my share of bad experiences from those greedy officers. Thankfully, I have always argued myself out of those unfair situations.

My personal tip on how to handle those MMDA crocodiles...

1. Talk to them in English. ("I'm sorry, I don't understand Tagalog well. Can we speak in English please?")

2. Always ask them to explain your violation to you before you give them your license. ("What's my violation officer? I don't think there was a problem in my driving.")

3. If you're innocent, just talk to them in circles (remember to talk in English) and chances are, their patience will run out and just let you go.

4. If you're guilty of a violation (shame on you! :D), then have them elaborate in detail what you need to do next. (again, require them to explain in English) Likewise, most of them will just give you a warning instead of risking a nosebleed. Haha.

Ayos ba?! :)

nice driving tips! i agree on keeping distance always. i've been driving in SLEX every week from Manila to Batangas and vice versa for more than 3 years now and I only had one trouble, nang minsang biglang prumeno nasa unahan ko, nakapreno naman ako pero yung nasa likod ko, nabangga ako. :( it's not my fault, so, binayaran nya lahat ng gastos.

additional tip: when it's raining hard, turn on your head lights even during the day, so that other drivers can see your car. medyo blurred kasi ang vision kapag malakas ang ulan, you probably can see them, but they might not see you.
