Hi Noemi, so sorry to hear about what happened to your family You are such a generous person for sharing your feelings even if it hurts to remember. You will see them again, I am sure of it, so till then, live life as you would if they were here so you can tell them all about your wonderful adventure and you will have a grand time catching up. the new normal pertains to any major life change, the loss of a dream, the loss of a future. Thanks for the link. It’s beautifully written and it can apply even to me…well at least at that time when my son died.

this reminds me of an article i’ve read, “Welcome to Holland.” it’s a description of what it’s like for parents who give birth to a special child instead of a regular child they have anticipated. it’s theme is of course, different from what you’ve written, but essentially, it’s similar. adapting to change, new normal….
