@ferdz- I agree. There was more soul to her performance at Oprah Winfrey. She gave it her all.

@mitch- I guess she is trying hard to speak in American English and it comes out trying hard. She will learn if she is exposed to hearing it everyday.

I agree with Jeric. Para kong nakikita ang younger version ni Yeng whenever she performs... But in fairness, Charice has improved talaga, kaso lang minsan super arte na nya magsalita or is it just me getting irritated kasi nagmumukha na syang TH pag nag-e-English. ohh, i cried listening to her sing. it was a dream come true for her to be on Oprah's show. maybe the reason why she is singing these big powerful songs of Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson, etc, is to showcase her voice to the whole world. but, i agree that she should develop her own singing identity like Leona Lewis. @Jeric- you are not putting her down. I agree with you that she needs to develop her own style soon and sing original songs. Sometimes I think she is adored because of her young age. What happens when she is older? I know she should take advantage of her celebrity status now and close deals but she also needs to think of her future.

I don’t know if it’s just me but whenever she performs locally it seems she’s imitating someone (like some of her mannerisms and the voice are similar to Yeng Constantino and Sarah Geronimo) . I hate to sound like I’m bringing her down or something but that’s just me. And I think she should start promoting her original songs more than doing covers.
