If we're going run for a position, we won't do such thing that could damage our reputation. None unless, it's within Mindanao where datuism is very implemented. We should utter such names just to come out with a better point of view with the situation. Unfortunately, my class discussed about this. I was unutterably disgusted with this dreadful news like I want to shot myself after hearing it. My desire to shot myself got worse when I read the articles online. Even though using the word 'cruel' is an insult to me, (surname issues)I can't help but say that's so cruel and so inhuman. They're beasts! Monsters! Devils I say! I really love my country so much but this news is an absolute insult to me as a Filipino. Even though I wasn't direct involve with the massacre, I am deeply disgust on how my fellow countrymen do such a heinous thing to their follow countrymen. They don't deserve to have the nationality "Filipino" in my eyes since they have deep insulted my Filipino heritage which I am whole-heartedly proud of with their own sins. I do pray and hope that the journalist and mediamen, the Mangudadatu and the families they left behind with find justice. Even though I am a Christian, I want them(the murders) to suffer the worst for the rest of their lives until their dying breaths...even if it is not the death penalty. For decades, clans and even whole villages have disappeared in the name of politics, and rido is normal, rido is the law even among non-Muslim communities, national-level politicians take advantage of rido, that is the reality there. The media have always been the guardians of the powerless in Mindanao, the voice of the powerless. The Maguindanao massacre is an unspeakable horror but the death of those journalists at least was not in vain, without them the whole thing would have been written off by authorities as just another clan war, but now the world knows what it is like in Mindanao. Now that the world has taken notice perhaps peace will come at last to the promise land.
