August 8 2008, 8-8-08, will it be a significant day for most of you? 8/8/08 has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?
But what else is happening today?
Today is Sara‘s wedding date.
Today , the 29th Summer Olympics will take off in Beijing at 08:08:08 p.m.
Today is just an ordinary day for most of us.
Like any other day one of our biggest questions is “What’s going to happen?”. Such questions can revolved around our relationships, our career and our life. It’s easy to tangle ourselves up in worrisome thoughts.
Worrying about what is going to happen blocks us from functioning well today. It blocks us from mastering today’s lessons.
Staying in the present, doing our best and participating fully today are all I need to do to assure myself that what’s going to happen tomorrow will be for the best. I don’t have to worry about what’s going to happen because that is just a negative contribution to my future. Living in the here and now is the best thing we can do, not just for today but for tomorrow.
Things will work out, if I let them. I will remember that staying in the present is the best thing I can do for my future.
The numbers just give it a nice ring to it. but it’s just another day. I agree staying in the present works for a lot of us especially anxious people.
I need to be reminded that to worry too much for the future and just do what I can today.
it’s in the news that today daw is malas. hope we all combat whatever malas it brings by bringing up a bright and positive attitude. 🙂
happy 888!

@feng- I heard it too. Strange how “The Asian bridal website however predicted that Aug. 8 which falls during the Hungry Ghost Festival of the Chinese lunar calendar is not an ideal date for marriage as hungry ghosts might spoil the wedding.”
