It has been ten years since my beloved Luijoe was taken away too soon. The positive resolution of my grief reached its peak just this year as we established closure with our past, never forgetting the love and memories of our son. The pain will always be a part of me because grief is the price we pay for love.

It surprised me one day when Vee Press , the digital publishing division of Vibal Foundation approached me if they could convert the grief category of my blog in to an ebook. I agreed only because this is not just about my story. It is a story of love, hope and the courage to let life go on. It was not easy re-writing the blog entries and the past events. Vibal Foundation hired Triccie Cantero, a free-lance editor to check on my entries. I was appalled at all the grammatical errors in the first two years of my blog. It discouraged me to continue on but I thought this was my way of giving back the blessings in my life. I am full of gratitude. It was the thought of giving hope to those who have lost someone that encouraged me to finish it on time before the launch. It was also difficult because tears would fall as I recalled some incidents in the past. (oh yes tears, a proof of love and that love lives on.)

So, my dear readers…I am inviting you to the ebook launch of “Touched by an Angel” :

When: Friday, September 17
Time: 4:00 PM
Where : Vibal Booth, 31st Manila International Book Fair, SMX Convention Center, beside SM Mall of Asia

The short launch programme will only last for up to 30-45 minutes. I know most of you will want to visit the Book Fair so I hope you can drop by at this time too.

Aside from my e-book, Vee Press will be introducing over a hundred e-book titles including the Foundation’s own publications, landmark Filipiniana, contemporary literature and Tagalog romance novels. Veepress is the first ebook publisher in the Philippines. Among those that will be launched at the event are Feodor Jagor’s Travels in the Philippines; Pedro Paterno’s Ninay, Cornélis de Witt Willcox’s Head Hunters of Northern Luzon, Faustino Aguilar’s Busabos ng Palad, and around a hundred more well-loved Filipino classics. Check the e-books catalog below.

The e-books, being in multiple formats, will be accessible on a wide variety of digital readers and mobile Internet devices such as the iPad, Kindle and Sony E-Reader.

The ebooks are available at Apple iBookstore, Amazon Kindle Store and other e-book retailers. You can also order print editions of the e-books by sending an email to books@vibalfoundation.org

Proceeds of my blog’s ebook will go to the information and expansion campaign of The Compassionate Friends Philippines ( a support group for bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents ).

Follow me in twitter @momblogger.I never planned to upgrade today. I didn’t know it yet but until I searched the archives for my last theme update , what did I discover? Lo and Behold! It is exactly a year ago. How come it took me that long? I usually change my theme every 6 months. I must have loved the old theme so much.

Today, I present a spanking brand new theme which illustrates my family’s bonding experience,Eating and our lives as food bloggers. One of my biggest peeve is junk food. I don’t know why my husband often adds them in his grocery list when I tell him that junk food is full of salt. He loves to indulge the children with Pringles or chocolate candies every weekend. I used to have a Friday Junk Food night when the kids were much younger. It’s the night when they can watch TV shows and munch on junk food since the rest of the week, they are not allowed to watch TV and eat junk food. Now that they are older, the husband has been very lax with our rules. I think that he buys the junk food because he wants to feel like a child.

Oh well, he enjoys watching the kids eat. Eating together as a family is a wonderful bonding experience, don’t you think?

I will just have to monitor the junk food stock more often.

• Am in the front row of the 3rd Iblog Summit. I had a hard time getting a wifi connection. Not many people inside yet. The place is huge. #
• iblog 3 hasn’t started and it’s 9:18 am already. I see a lot of new bloggers Iin the audience that I haven’t met yet. That’s great. #
• great we start in 5 minutes. Chris Haravata and Apples are to my left and a nervous Lauren is to my right. #
• iblog3 just started with an invocation and the National Anthem. #
• Chris Harvata talks about Blogging 101. Interesting to note that there is a 60 year old man and a 13 year old boy in the audience. #
• Gmail is blocked by UP servers? even Adium! argh. Looking at the blogging demographics, my age group (>40 years old) is in the 1.7% #
• Lauren is next. She is so nervous. I wish her luck. I will record her talk via garageband. First time to use garageband, can you believe it? #
• Lauren’s topic is the Do’s and Don’ts of Personal Blogging. #
• Lauren doesn’t look nervous to me. #
• Iblog3 is on a break. Lauren’s talk was great. So many question.I will be the next speaker on Personal Blogging Success Story. #
• finally met Dine (sexymom) who is so charming. Her photos don’t do her justice, Jangelo. And met Julie too. Haven’t met other bloggers yet. #

• I am home now because I need to access my gmail. Wifi here sucks. My batteries died too.I will be back mid-afternoon after I finish my work. #

You’ve probably seen a few of my trivial Twitter Updates (using the wordpress plugin, twitter tools) and my [tag]Twitter[/tag] badge on the right sidebar of this blog. Twitter is an update service or similar to a social networking site that lets you “micro-blog” or write short (140 characters) quips on what you’re currently doing. It’s a nifty tool for people like me who work most of the time on the internet. All twitter.com does is ask: “What are you doing?” What I like about Twitter is that I can write the most irrelevant and mundane things without worrying if it’s blog-worthy or not. In short, Twitter is a mini-blogging tool. JAngelo wrote that someone said it can replace full-fledged blogging.

Why should you care about Twitter?

True, on first glance it is a baffling and seemingly pointless service – but underneath it proves intriguing, useful and addictive for those who live on the move. One observer called it “the Seinfeld of the internet … a website about nothing”.

Sometimes we need a break from work or reading blog entries.

• Lauren isn’t up yet and she should be preparing for her housewarming party menu. Waiting for M’s text on her Manila arrival from Baguio. #
• Am back from gym. Lauren panics as she has to submit her MA Creative Writing requirements next week at UP. And she’s leaving for Singapore! #
• I am going to Ateneo so Lauren can request a transcript and recommendation letter. #
• Lauren’s friends are in her room. Seems like her housewarming party will start early. I will check the food now. #
• Never really turned the airconditioning system that went with this house until today because of Lauren’s visitors. Need my curtains now. #
• I feel like I’m IN a rock concert. #
• I love that the previous owners of this house left behind their airconditioning system. It does come in handy when one has guests. #
• watching American Idol. It’s Latin night. #
• Lauren housewarming party is over. Isn’t she glad that she lives near Eastwood? They moved over there. Now just waiting for Butch. #
• i still have a bad cold. I hope I get well in time for Iblog 3 summit #
• i woke up because of sneezing spells. Butch had to sleep in the other room so now I am by lonesome self. #
• I had to drop M at the UP campus. Summer class registration starts today. Why would she want to take 9 units for summer? #
• My online work always starts at 7:00 AM after breakfast. Then I work 4 hours straight then leave for gym. #

• I need to unplug M’s windows PC and bring it to the Geek Squad. I brag to the girls how my macbook is kinda resistant to virus and spyware. #
• Just came back from the Geek Squad and am now downloading AVC, spybot and adaware while M is busy enjoying herself in Baguio. #
• called IBM support to instruct me how to format my husband’s laptop. Yup M infected his laptop. #
• @jayvee- that’s why I used powerpoint because until now I haven’t bought that adaptor. #
• I just came from makati to help Lauren with her banking stuff. Then she shopped. Good thing she had money. I’m a bit financially challenged. #
• reinstalling windows xp in my husband’s laptop. Hayy. This virus is really strange. Any word with virus or AVG crashes the computer. #
• finally finished reformatting windows xp and downloading AVG, spybot, adaware in this laptop. Husband is now happy to have his laptop. #
• Installed AVG ,adaware,zonealarm and spybot in butch’ laptop and M’s PC. Now Lauren’s bothering me on how she should present on Iblog summit #
• I have a cold. I should call it a night. #
• I just finished breakfast and an now at my writing table gazing out to the pocket garden. What a great day! #

• It’s so cool how I don’t have to yell for Lauren to get going. I just IM her. #
• I love my husband. I just wish he could be a handyman now that I have a frozen shoulder. I just finished nailing a hook to the wall. #
• deciding whether to go to gym or not. No one is home. Butch is at the gym. Marielle is in Pangasinan and Lauren is with friends in Makati #
• those terrible cats are using my new furniture as a scratch post. I am ordering a customized cat furniture for these 2 cats. Expenses again? #

• My husband is treating me to a massage in my own room… Aww, sweet. At least he knows how tiring it can be to nail hooks on the wall. #
• trying to get used to my “rejuvenated” 4 poster bed. For 3 weeks, we slept on Zen like bed aka mattress on the floor. Miss the simplicity. #
• listening to lauren’s podcast. I want to do podcasting one day when I figure out how to use garage band. #
