Launch of Pampanga Governor Eddie T. Panlilio’s (Among Ed) Blog

We just arrived here at the Pampanga Executive House to witness the launch of Gov. Eddie T. Panlilio’s (Among Ed) blog. So what am I doing here with 20 other political bloggers when I barely write about politics? Oh well, I am here as a fellow blogger to support a new blogger.

I will be live-blogging the program (if possible).

1. Audio-visual Presentation on Pampanga and the Panlilio Administration’s accomplishments to date
2. Pampanga Politics and Good Governance – Gov. Eddie T. Panlilio
3. Responsible Citizenship and Today’s Youth – Ms. Angelica Guevarra, Youth Leader
4. Blogging for Good Governance – Mr. Jhay Rocas, Bloggers’ Kapihan crew and student leader from De La Salle University – Dasmariñas
4. Launching of Among Ed’s Blogsite

While waiting for Among Ed, we are introducing ourselves. With us are a few members of the Bloggers Kapihan like Ederic, Bikoy, Mong, Jhay Rocas, Tonyo Cruz, Shari Cruz, Robby Cruz, Julie , Hannah and many others like Elena Cardinez, Wyatt Belmonte.

Among Ed arrives! He tells us not to lose hope. “let’s align ourselves with people who still have hope who can transform our country”. Because of my short memory retention, I will be quoting parts of Tonyo Cruz as he live blogs himself.

““There is a crisis of hope in the country today.”

““The future is owned by you, young people. Don’t get shortchanged. Speak now or forever hold your peace, as they say in the old marriage ritual.”

Jhay Rocas now talks on Blogging for Good Governance.

““Ang nakakatuwa sa good governance ay bago. Bihira nating nakikita at nararanasan.

I’m slow in this live-blogging so better get more from Tonyo Cruz.

11:30 am

Now Among Ed is live-blogging with his first entry Our First Year in Office at AmongEd.org

As Among Ed types his first entry, the screen shows the typed entry.

And I’m live-blogging beside Elena Cardinez.

And why shouldn’t I have a photo op with Among Ed?

It’s good to know there are still a few politicians and Filipinos who continue to have hope for our country.

  3. I make it no secret that I’m a big fan of Gov. Panlilio, simply because of his new politics, the grassroots effort he was able to utilize. Out of the two launchings, between Jun Lozada, and Gov. Panlilio, I think Panlilio will be the more important blog to follow, although I’m still uncertain which blog will actually have more followers..

Time will tell, but for this blogger, I’ll be following both, just in case they make any earth shattering blog posts..

  5. i hope Gov. Eddie Panlilio will get attention to my message because my girlfriends father Mr. Benjamin Cunanan who was one of the leader of Hukbalahap during World War II. He needs help of medicine for fighting his sick of prostrate cancer at veterans hospital. I hope Director Nostradamus Villanueva of the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office could do something for him to prolong his life. This is my only way I can do for my girlfriends father.

  6. Father Eddie Panlilio, governor of Pampanga, Archbishop Paciano Aniceto of San Fernando, which serves Pampanga, suspended his priestly faculties during his campaign and three-year term as governor.

This is sad! I think I have an Idea why he was more willing to battle those bad guys in politics himself and leave his higher calling.
He couldn’t take the unending corruptions anymore .But on the other hand, this is very typical of how ordinary people tackle a problem?
So what’s wrong with this approach?
Father Eddie Panlilio has a mark of Priestly ordination, he is a servant of Christ in his church, and as such should really be paying more attention to his priestly ministries.
I want to tell him that the Catholic Church itself is in deep crises. It was like “the church is the oxygen of the laities” .The power behind every outstanding public servant.

Why leave your vocation? What happened to the power of prayers?
The promises of Jesus? Who will lead those public servants toward God, towards?
    The teachings of the church?

He could have done an excellent job in the sidelines. There is a big moral decay going own around the world, and in the Philippines.
These rampant corruptions? Is this really an external problem or internal to most of us? The more so, to those who are in positions?

It was like “If you can’t beat them, join them”!

“That calls for a big sacrifice because I truly love being a priest. In fact should I lose, I will still return to the priesthood if I could,” said Panlilio. . . .

Are you really being honest here? “Many are called, but few are chosen.”
The reason you are leaving is maybe because you truly don’t have a vocation?

Wish you come back in being a Priest and take care of their spiritual needs!
We are fighting a spiritual warfare and there are no middle grounds.
Pray that God will send us a leader, who’s a Nationalist, Have a holy fear and love of God, and is above corruptions!

Please lang po wag mo nang i-wish na bumalik pa sa pagkapari si Governnor Panlilio because he don’t deserve it… he was called “YES” but he don’t have the loyalty to serve GOD, he doesn’t know this and he doesn’t care…being a true Servant of Christ, Gov. Panlilio must have a pure heart, loyalty, fair and sincerity, and since he lied, discriminating, and judging people many times over….HE IS NOT QUALIFIED TO GO BACK IN PRIESTHOOD…

although, Gov. Panlilio told us so that if he fails to win the presidency he will go back as a priest, is he joking?…huH?…hindi ba parang ginagawa nya tayong ESCAPE GOAT nyan o PANAKIP BUTAS ang mga KATOLIKO?…

  7. How can you serve two master?
Now, that you are like them with your own personal agendas?
Would you be talking about their spiritual needs?
    Their priorities ahead of yours?

No! Governor, don’t kid yourself. The praise of men matter more now than God!
But anyway, God don’t force us against our wills. Wish you LUCK!

    Peace Makers
    July 21, 2009

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” (Matthew 5:9)

In this seventh (out of nine) of the Beatitudes with which Christ began His Sermon on the Mount occurs the first mention in the New Testament of the important word “peace.”

But how can one be a peacemaker? Note that Christ did not say: “Blessed are the pacifists.” There are many today who talk about peace, but how does one make peace?

The answer lies in the example of Christ Himself. He is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), and He “made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself” (Colossians 1:20).

The real problem is that there can be no lasting peace between man and man, as long as there is enmity between man and God. “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:18).

With that problem settled, we are now in a position to become true peacemakers, for we also can lead others to God through Jesus Christ. He “hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we . . . pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:18-20).

As ambassadors for Christ, we are true ambassadors for peace. The best possible contribution we can make toward world peace, racial peace, industrial peace, family peace, or personal peace is to help people become reconciled to God through faith in the peace-making work of Christ on the cross. “These things I have spoken unto you,” says the Lord Jesus, “that in me ye might have peace” (John 16:33).
