“Sabi niya sa kin masyado ko na raw pinasisikip ang mundo ko,” says Lozada. “I know I am taking a lot of risks but I took it.” At this point Lozada’s voice breaks anew. “They reminded me that pinasisikip ko ang mundo ko.” Madrigal asks: “So parang sa maliit na kabaong ka na lang mapupunta?” to which Lozada replies: “Baka mas maliit pa po kung cri-nemate ako.”

[It's mere playacting from a crying boy],” chief presidential legal counsel Sergio Apostol told reporters at the Palace.

My heart goes out to Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr. Inspite of what Malacanang says that Lozada is play acting, I believe in Lozada’s sincerity.

courageIt takes courage to let go of fear and appear before the Senate Investigation of the NBN Deal. I admire Lozada for exposing the truth at the risk of his safety and his family’s safety. He did this out for the love of country. How many politicians can say this about themselves? The future of our children depends on responsible and honest politicians. We need more citizens like Lozada to come out and spill the truth about the dirty deeds of our leaders. The truth will set us free for the sake of our children’s future.

If there was were someone trustworthy I could file complaints with, I would have done so, he says. He adds that that he feels sorry for many good people in government who have invested many years in the service but end up serving political appointees.

Each one of us have the same permissible zone when dealing with compromising deals. Each one of us has a moral conscience. Will the same good people follow the path that Lozada took?

jun lozada I’m paying this country back, Lozada replies when Senator Honasan asks what is motivating him to testify. He cites his father whom he said told him to pay back the country for having given them so much in terms of livelihood.

UPDATE- A wire-tapped telephone conversation uploaded in youtube video which was released to discredit Jun Lozada. Here is the alleged telephone conversation of Jun Lozada and Joey De Venecia recorded. (Lozada- Crying Babies). The video corroborates a lot of Jun Lozada’s testimony.

Joey: Hey Jun.
Jun: Hey Joey.
Joey: Jun, Can you hear me?
Jun: Yeah. Go ahead.
Kaya lang pare, we need to get at least something from them di ba?
Jun: Yeah.. from both sides.
Joey: pare..??? from that thing.. because he’s the gatekeeper of the VOTES. I can understand, but not that amount.
Jun: Oh yeah. that’s too big. That’s too big. yeah yeah yeah..
Joe: Pare, lets’ develop a plan to talk to him. You know what he told me, between you and I, when we were in hongkong… in Shenzen, don’t quote me ha,tinanong ko bakit ba ang laki laki? singkwenta..sabi niya madami ako kelangan bigyan, pati yun NEDA. He said the word NEDA ha. For your information PARE.
Jun: I would understand that…he’d like to look at.. ????
Joey: Maybe you can quote me and say, sabi ni Joey sabi mo sa kanya may NEDA dun. Teka, baka magwala na naman.
Jun: For some reason, I have this chemistry with him. sabi ko CHAIR.. we were in the club… Sabi niya Jun ikaw na mag-referee bukas ha. sabi niya…I want you to be there. ikaw na mag-referee.
Joey: Well anyway, so that’s where I’m looking at right now. ???? out to get you.. Think of a strategy for them, and if you need me to back you up I’ll be there.

This is a very clear, attempt of the government to manipulate the opinion of the people through media since they can no longer influence the Philippine Media. However, this attempt is not going to sell to the people unless the president clears her name to the public.

OMG! The gall of Madrigal to ask about Neri’s “intimate relationships” with other men. To think Madrigal herself was once rumored to be a lesbian. She is just so darn KSP.

RE Ria Jose: “OMG! The gall of Madrigal to ask about Neri’s “intimate relationships” with other men. To think Madrigal herself was once rumored to be a lesbian. She is just so darn KSP.”

I believe that she was referring to the level of ‘closeness’ of a person to a person in a more scientific term. In Social Penetration theory, friendship degrees are labeled as ‘level of intimacy’. She was stressing out how close he was with that person, or with ‘those’ people for that matter. :)

I cried when I heard him say “I am honoring my father and paying this country back.” How many of us can say the same?

  • http://aboutmyrecovery.com Noemi

@joelle- I am so mad at the Palace officials who call him the “cyring lady”. Lozada’s testimony is so revealing that this will adversely affect GMA’s presidency.

  • http://riajose.wordpress.com Ria Jose

So typical of the administration to resort to character assassination.

  • http://mommybanker.wordpress.com/ Joelle

I do hope this is the tipping point.

What can you expect from this rotten government?

Noems, I had to ask Marissa F. if this is the same Jun Lozada that we know… and she said, “No, it’s another one!” Whew!

i pity mr. lozada because of the hefty price he has to pay for telling the truth.i was watching him last night and i couldn’t understand why he was the one being mentally tortured instead of the people he was mentioning whom he believed had tried to abduct him. :(

  • Enrico Navea

First time I heard Mr. Lozada, I believe him though he admitted that he is one of the corrupt people in the government. But during yesterday’s hearing, I found some of the situations unrealistic and now I don’t believe him anymore.

One situation: They passed through the Pre-departure Area. We all know that there are many people waiting in that area for their boarding. But did he make any scene or to call the attention of the people and say “Hey guys! help me I am being kidnapped!”…Well, he says he is afraid. But those who “abducted” him will not do anything stupid to kill him in front of many people. He went along with them.

Another situation: He was brought to La Salle, they stayed there with the nuns and the priests. The next day, he was taken again by his “abductors”. Why did he go with them? Did the nuns and the priests were there to protect him? Why did he go with them? Is it against his will? or he is just following the script provided to him?

One more: Why did the siblings file writs when in fact they knew and they have already met Lozada? To sow intrigues? to strengthen their accusations?

Amazing.

i believe lozada is telling the truth.

  • Joshua

Well, Mr. Lozada appeared in the senate with bravery and as a solo witness and I think he’s saying the truth..imagine in other situation, there are many witnesses who appeared, but in this kind of scandal, it would put a person’s life into risk or shall we say in “danger.” Even though he is one of the corrupt in this scandal, at least he voiced out the other people who are involved in this scandal…hope this will end in a few days…

  • http://www.thesweetlife-rowena.blogspot.com Rowena

Hi Noemi, like your readers, I also believed Mr. Lozada is telling the truth and is a credible witness. I’ve seen so much corruption in gov’t that’s why I opted to stay out of it. There were times in the past, I accompanied contractor-friends of my employers when they delivered money in exchange for big funded projects. And couldn’t do anything about it then except write newspaper columnists about it. Am thankful someone came out and revealed these things. Talagang binangga ang pader…

  • sunny

nabasa ko yong ibang post dito in referrence to jun lozada, ang point ko lang talaga ay while hopefully maganda and magiging resulta ng pagkanta ni Jun Lozada kasi hopefully mababawasan na naman ang mga corrupt na opisyales ng ating bansa or at least ma ID sila. lalo na sa administrasyon. Kaya lang sa opnion ko lang wag naman nating pababain yong sarili natin at ang ating hinahangaan ay isang magnanakaw. most of us work hard to earn an honest living para ma tupad natin ang ating mga resposibilities without resorting to shady dealings in short corruption – kagaya ni Rowena dahil strong ang ating conviction na hindi tama yon. kahit maliit lang ang kita basta honestly earned happy na tayo. that to me is integrity that to me is courage. marami tayong kapwa filipino na hindi man lang nagkaroon ng chance mag aral para they can be completitive sa livelihood but still refused to steal instead work hard. para lang mabuhay ng marangal. here we are presented with someone who is well educated, engage in a field wherein at this time is in demand and yet sumali pa sa kalokohan(admittedly yan ha from his testimony) tapos naipit.walang mapuntahan kundi kumanta para maayonan naman yong magiging bagong kasanga. tapos nandito bibigyan natin siya ng mga compliments na maybe hindi natin ginagamit sa sarili natin. im sorry hindi tama yon. ang pagpunta sa senado at pagsiwalat kung sino sino pa ang kanyang kasabwat sa pagnakaw is the least he could do. im quite certain madami na siyang naipon sa mga nakupit niya sa mga filipino.

I only have a few questions:

Who are the three additional bodyguards (in addition to the group of Mascarinas) that guarded Lozada in LSGH? Losada says they are his own personal guards. If that is the case, he is not that all alone pala. He has firepower din. This group even went along to the office of Atty. Bernardo when Lozada signed his affidavit. Since he is not rich (not pedigreed like Joey de Venecia), according to him, who is paying for these guards?

If he didn’t have any political agenda as he says, why did he opt to go to LSGH? Maybe he didn’t know that Luistro, President of La Salle, was one of Cory’s fellow marchers (and they sure had a political agenda) when they went along with the Hyatt 10 demanding GMA’s resignation? Why didn’t he ask to be brought to Cardinal Rosales instead? Or some of the other religious who have not made up their minds on who is and is not guilty.

It is easy to believe Lozada considering the zero credibility of the administration. But should we take everything he says hook, line and sinker? Shouldn’t we think and analyze for ourselves and go beyond the surface? It is fashionable to go with the crowd, but it is not always the right way to go.

His statement – can I answer that with a pregnant smile? – is at the minimum, malicious. And he says he has no political agenda?

And as to the Senate hearings, why are most of the Senators taking the position of a prosecutor. If they wanted to investigate, shouldn’t they have taken pains to appear neutral? Why use leading questions?

    Just asking.

In the end, aren’t we all a bit naive. All this started because Amsterdam Holdings, Inc.’s proposal was not approved. But did we really want to enter into a $200M+ project AHI. Despite being called “Amsterdam” Holding’s, Inc., AHI is not a Dutch company. It is a Filipino company incorporated in 2002. Joey De Venecia III, is its president.

Lozada’s motives are not to bring out the truth. Wake up people.

YOU HIT THE BULL’S EYE – I totally agree with you.

  • Von

I agree with Roberto, I’ve been with the IT industry and as I read through the deal, I believe it’s GREAT.

I’ve been looking for an AHI, in the net I cannot even see a website for that AHI. It makes me think how could someone bid for a huge project and yet your company’s value was way behind the amount of the project you were bidding for.

I’ve been thinking, this issue first occured to me when a De Venecia was trying to point out that the process of project bidding was unfair. Now where are we?

  • Von

Naiinis na ko kasi 2007 has been a good year for us Filipinos and yet we are starting 2008 like this. Napaka vocal ng mga taga oposisyon how they wanted the President to step down, but I think the president has been doing a really good job. I think its time for us to protect the presidency from those power hungry people.

  • Von

I also don’t believe Jun had put himself in danger by seeking the safe haven the media could freely give him. WHO WANT TO HURT SOMEONE WHO GOT EVERYONES ATTENTION, I DON’T BELIEVE THAT’S BEING BRAVE, I BELIEVE THAT’S VERY CUNNING.

  • lucing javier

It’s a good thing that the people now knows what the government is doing in the country… Thanks to Lozada for showing the Filipino people what we cannot see in the inside world… I pray that this will be the start of a new change… WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS GOVERNMENT…NOW!

  • George Jacinto

whether we try to hide things, time will speak the truth!i believe the ‘hero’ speaks the truth and that we should support him. We,as filipino have been branded as corrupt simply because of what the people sitting in the government is doing.i dont know if corruption will really vanish but i hope it would for the sake of our fellowmen and country…for the future of our children. We should stand up and support the many people who try to go out and give their lives for the truth sake.If only the government would have a heart to resign, that would mean a sacrifice for the benefit of our country…but i guess the power is what greeds the officials.lET US PRAY FOR THE BEST TO COME>

  • sunny

    George,
I support Jun Lozada in the sense that he should be accorded his basic rights as provided for in our constitution. I do not believe that he is a hero neither he came out putting his life at risk for the sake of the truth. Recent facts had been unveiled that after the falling out in this ZTE mess, Jun had been forum shopping – ie spoke with different individuals no matter to whom they are alligned to seek the best offer he could get in the event that this whole thing he put himself into comes to the situation we have right now.
If we are to consider a hero or heroes here, it should be the filipino people who despite hardship and difficulty in life are never tempted or even dared to compromise thier values.
Questions or lines had been thrown a lot on papers/media outlets that goes somehting like… moral ascendancy – again I have to emphasize that only filipinos who never partook in any crooked dealings have that moral ascendancy.
If we are to participate in this whole mess, we have to exercise that right wisely and not allow ourselves to be used. We have to be objective in looking at all the issues surrounding this thing. The good thing or things in this ZTE issue is,it gives us a glimpse of whos who in curruption and how it all happens. So far this investigation have revealed that corruption is not only exclusive on individuals in government/administration. Individuals in the private sector are and had been willing participants in this corrupt undertakings. if we are to act, we should do it wisely.

It pissed me off how Jun Lozada has been driving the Filipinos crazy. He is now the new sensation and his allegations are the latest buzz. But should we just believe all his allegations without evidence? Our legislators should know better.

Check this out for more wiretapped conversations which were confirmed by Joey and Jun as their voices. After hearing these, do you still believe in these socalled heroes. I think we should thank the wiretapper for exposing the “fake heroes” of our time.

By the way, where are the “putangina” profanities in your transcript. What’s the point of censoring your own post.

How can the UP, Ateneo, UST, UE law students not know the difference between “hearsays” and factual evidence? How can they believe testimonies of this guy or Joey de Venecia without looking on the pieces of evidence presented in the Senate? How can they missed as students of law that the only proper forum to adjudicate this case and punish the offenders is through the judicial courts and not in the Senate’s telenovena trial by publicity. The latest witness, Madriaga, foisted on us by Lacson (again?) will bear it out that this investigation is nothing more than a witchunt, more in aid of persecution of the First Family and in aid of election.

  • amoringis

Jamby Madrigal should be removed from the Senate for bringing a tampered document to implicate Mr. Mike Arroyo. This is something that should not be ignored by the Senators. She should be disciplined. Before you show any document, this should be authenticated at least by her. Did she ever look for the original? We all know that FG was already destroyed by media and oppositions, but what Madrigal did is unfair. You don’t want this to happen to all of you here, right? An irresponsible act on the part of this senator, who never authored any bill since she became senator.

I also condemn media for being bias. News should not be partial, all sides should be heard. And all news are truth…You can never say that Lozada’s statement are the only truth. Whatever they say are truth, as far as news is concerned. ABS-CBN is number 1 bias. That is why they are no longer the number 1 network. People are fed up with this network.

Cardinal Rosales’ 35-minute homily where he said the reason why we’re not moving on because we keep coming back to Edsa was never mentioned in their news but Bishop Bacani’s message were broadcast. This is clear partiality of (di na ako) Kapamilya Network.

Yesterday, in TV Patrol they reported the 500,000 money given by Deputy ES Gaite, but they never mentioned the most important thing….LOZADA CLARIFIED THAT IT IS NOT A BRIBE!!!! Is that a news? If the news is selective and incomplete, I will never ever consider it as a news but chismis or insinuation.

BOYCOTT ABS-CBN KAPAMILYA SHOWS!!!!! (I have been a Kapamilya since the time of Mike Lacanilao when it was BBC 2). I hate ABS-CBN Now for being bias and impartial. Their reporters are no longer professional except Tina Monzon Palma and Angelo Castro.

    Lozada is a JDV pawn.

Ayos buhay mo gnayon Jun.

Magsamasama kayo nila Arroyo! Mga mandarambong!

  • jake

Pagbabayarain niyo nila Joey de Venecia, FG at Arroyo.

Makakahabol din ang hustisya sa inyo.
