Bloggers seem to be in the news lately such as the sensationalized Beware of the Blog story carried by Korina Sanchez. Let’s not get discouraged by that. Let’s empower ourselves and have fun at the same time. To all my readers, this is the perfect opportunity to meet up!

Take for instance the 4th Iblog Summit and the first blogger party for the summer.

The fourth iBlog Summit will be held on April 26, 2008 at the Malcolm Theater, College of Law, in UP Diliman, Quezon City . Register for iBlog4.

Here’s the info from 88db.com for the first blogger party this summer –

If a Tim Cumper alias Ellumbra or otherwise known as Timothy Ellis Cumper or Grabbadabba via Twitter talks about me and other bloggers in a negative light, this is the story. Tim Cumper believes that he was scammed, fooled by Mayen, Tierra Maria Estates and a group of people since October 2007. It is almost 2 years after and he is in pursuit of bloggers who have written about this.

Read the bloggers entry on Tim Cumper Watch.

What do you get when you fall in love?
A guy with a pin to burst your bubble
That’s what you get for all your trouble.
I’ll Never Fall In Love Again

Mayen Betita paused to sing their love song, “I’ll Never Fall In Love Again”. She giggled and placed her hand on mine as if placating the pain from narrating the harrowing events leading to the breakup with Timothy Ellis Cumper (also known as Ellumbra or Tim Cumper) her ex-boyfriend, a UK national.

beware of the blog

I just watched Korina Today’s feature called “Beware of the Blog”. I guess bloggers are a hot topic these days because of the phenomenon of Brian Gorrel’s blog. The topic reminds me of a personal experience with two bloggers based on the questions and issues raised by Korina Sanchez as follows:

1. Bloggers are the columnist of the 20th century.

blog awards 2008

The 2008 Philippine Blog Awards is still very much alive. The incorporation is crucial because receipts are needed for our sponsors. Also, a new set of officers will take place because of the incorporation. Hopefully, all the legal papers will be ready by end of April. *cross fingers*

I suck at writing reviews so my dear husband wrote the following review on Skin Deep, a musical comedy that dissects the idea of beauty. I hope you watch Skin-Deep. Not only is it entertaining but you will help the Section of Dermatology of St Luke’s Medical Center, Philippine Leprosy Mission and Surok Uni Foundation. The title was therefore apropos, as these are groups who are at the forefront of the battle against the dreaded nerve and skin disease. Moving on….the review of PETA Theater’s Skin-Deep.

skin deepOn a sunny Sunday afternoon which suddenly turned into a major downpour (two days later than GMA would have wished), we found ourselves at the PETA Theatre Center in Quezon City. My sister-in-law (Belen L. Dofitas), a famous dermatologist urged us to watch so we could help raise funds for her project, the Philippine Leprosy Mission.

dina and noemiOnce again, it’s the first Monday of March Over at PinoyMomsNetwork, it is the day to publish FamPics. For March, the theme is LEARNING.

Dine is almost unrecognizable without her sleeveless tops but you know, we were invited to speak in front of local women leaders from different local government units nationwide such as mayors, vice-mayors, vice-governors, Board members etc. Business suit seemed like a suitable attire for this event and not our casual “blogger” wear during blogger or new media events. Dine and I laughed because Wikipilipinas.org staff barely recognized her.
